DIY: Frame Wall Art

Have you ever seen something on Pinterest and thought, “Hm, that looks cool…I wish I could do that to my apartment.” Welllll I’m going to show you how to easy add a bit of character to your own place UNDER $100!! Me and my roomie decided to spruce up the living room walls and it was super easy and actually turned out really cool. I loved that we could say that we did it all on our own. I’ve added a list of items you’ll need for this process!

  1. Multiple Frames (either the same color palette OR buy spray paint to paint them all 1 color)
  2. Command Picture Hanging Strips
  3. Scissors
  4. Rubbing Alcohol

Also with the frames, you don’t have to go and buy super expensive ones to make it look good. You can stop by your nearest home goods or TJ Max to get some affordable ones because once it’s on the wall it’ll look good regardless.

Sooo your first step is to take the rubbing alcohol and swipe it against the wall that you want to place your frames on. That gets rid of all rid and oil so the stripes fully stick.

Next, you’re going to take your scissors and cut off the back end of the picture frames and remove the glass that normally comes for photo protection. So all you’re left with is the shell of the frame.Once you’ve done that, make sure to angle the frame in the exact spot you want it on the wall because these strips are heavy duty. Once you know where you want each frame to be placed, take two of the velcro strips, and press them facing against each other so they’re tightly meshed.Once you feel its secure and sealed, peel off the sticker covers on both ends and place one on both TOP and BOTTOM of the frame for maximum security. Then place it on the space of the wall you want it at and press down firmly for 30 seconds.

Slowly lift off and repeat this process (minus the alcohol swipe because you’ve already done that) and VOILA, you’ve got your own DIY frame wall art! YAY!
